In the 1960s, the Hargreeves siblings enter different timelines and find themselves separated. The siblings are:

- Number Seven, AKA Vanya (Eliot Page), is a caretaker for a farm family and has lost her past memories. As soon as we enter season 2, Number five uses his time travel ability to save his family and avoid death.
- Number Five is warned of another apocalypse and attempts to reunite with his siblings. While searching for his siblings, each one has to pass the hurdles they have created living in the 1960s.
The Umbrella Academy Season 2 Recap
The Handler makes an appearance again and starts working for the commission, the organization that guards the flow of time again. The Handler is planning a revolution and the show introduces the handler’s daughter Lila Pitts (Ritu Arya). As the siblings unite, they are chased by their old enemies. The siblings decide to stop the apocalypse and gradually reconcile with their past lives. Ben AKA Number six officially passes away and reaches closure with his family before leaving.
The Academy kids cannot prevent Kennedy’s assassination and are branded as terrorists. Vanya senses that something is wrong with the son of the farm family, Harlan (Justin Paul Kelly). Unknowingly, she transfers some of her powers to him. As she is trying to calm him down, the handler and his daughter make an appearance.
It is revealed that Lila can copy the capabilities of her opponents. As a result, she starts overpowering the siblings. Due to this, Diego convinces her to join their side. The siblings handle the situation and take power from Harlan, without knowing that he still has some left. They return to the timeline to witness that circumstances have entirely changed in the present.
The new reality reveals that a new group of kids called the Sparrows are living in the mansion. Their dead father is now alive. Ben, who had passed away is now a part of the Sparrows with no memories of The Umbrella Academy.
